ISEA2010 RUHR – International Symposium on Electronic Art, 20.- 29. August 2010

ISEA2010 RUHR is the 16th International Symposium on Electronic Art, a major conference and exhibition event for art, media and technology, scheduled for 20-29 August 2010 in the German Ruhr region (Dortmund, Essen,Duisburg, a. o.). ISEA2010 RUHR will be an international meeting of visual artists, musicians, dancers, designers, engineers, software artists, researchers, theorists, and media activists, working with recent technologies and exploring the artistic, creative and critical potentials of digital and electronic media. The extensive festival programme will include exhibitions, keynote lectures, panels and workshops, concerts, live performances and public art projects.

The International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA) has been taking place in prestigious institutions across the globe since 1988. It is organised under the auspices of the Inter-Society for Electronic Arts (ISEA Foundation), an international non-profit organisation that promotes the relationship between arts, science and digital technologies.

ISEA2010 RUHR it is a project of the European Capital of Culture, RUHR.2010, and is hosted by Medienwerk  NRW, an open multidisciplinary network of diverse local institutions with a focus on digital art and culture. It is organised by Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) Dortmund.
