The Temporary Gallery is a Cologne based institution for contemporary art. Founded in 2009 as a non-profit art association, it shows exhibitions and provides discursive formats in the context of contemporary art practice and theory. Cooperations with guest curators -internationally as locally, art scientists as experts from various cultural fields- alternate with solo and group shows and manifold programs of fringe events. A main emphasis lies in the production and exhibition of moving images. Since 2014, the Temporary Gallery is institutionally funded by the City of Cologne as a new "Centre for contemporary art".
